Implantology is the field of dentistry dealing with the restoration of missing teeth, with the use of titanium dental implants.
Periodontitis is the inflammatory disease affecting the tooth-supporting tissues (gums, alveolar bone and periodontal ligament). A large part of the population (about 40%) currently suffers from periodontitis.
In some cases, patients suffer from gingival recession, which may affect one or more teeth. Gingival recessions may cause aesthetic or functional problems, including sensitivity of the exposed root, difficulty in brushing or risk of root caries (decay).
